Edith Ropp

Edith Ropp was born in 1944, the daughter of David and Fannie (Gascho) Ropp. She had two older brothers and one older sister. Her family farmed at Lot 35-36, Concession 15, in East Zorra Township. Edith grew up in an intergenerational family that included her paternal grandparents, Menno and Magdalena Ropp. Deitsch was the language of Edith’s family. She attended S.S. No. 13, one mile south of her family’s farm, and graduated from grade 8.  Edith has been a member of the East Zorra Mennonite Church all her life. Edith was a gifted seamstress and was employed in the sewing department at the Stratford General Hospital. She moved to Stratford many years ago and continues to live there in retirement.
