Gerald Baechler

Gerald Baechler was born in 1955, son of Arthur and Idella (Steinmann) Baechler. He had six brothers and two sisters. The Baechler family farmed in South Easthope Township, near Shakespeare, ON. Gerald attended the Shakespeare Public School and earned his high school diploma through correspondence courses. Deitsch was the language of his home and he was one of the youngest subjects in the Wie Geht’s Tavistock project. Gerald attended the Steinmann Mennonite Church. He worked as a house painter, in book publishing and sales and, in midlife, became a licensed massage therapist. He is single. In his early 60s Gerald suffered ill health and moved into a retirement home. He is currently a resident of the Cedar Croft Place, in Stratford, ON.
