Gloria Baechler

Gloria Baechler was born in 1944, the eldest child of Wilmer and Frieda (Ropp) Baechler.  She had two younger sisters and two younger brothers. Gloria grew up on a farm in South Easthope Township, midway between Tavistock and New Hamburg. She attended Harlieb’s Public School and graduated from grade 8. Her family were members of the East Zorra Mennonite Church. Gloria’s first language was Deitsch and she learned English in the Sunday school class at church. Most of her life, Gloria worked at the Stratford Hospital as a support staff and moved to Stratford where she still lives. She is retired and attends the East Zorra Mennonite Church.
