Hilda (Brenneman) Swartzentruber
Hilda (Brenneman) Swartzentruber was born in East Zorra Township in 1930, the daughter of Moses and Katie (Roth) Brenneman. She had three sisters and two brothers. Her first language was Deitsch. Hilda attended Hickson Public School. Her family attended the Cassel Amish Mennonite Church. She married Willis Swartzentruber in 1949 and they were blessed with five sons and three daughters. Hilda worked for a chicken farmer in egg grading and retail. She and Willis were members of the East Zorra Mennonite Church and lived in East Zorra Township most of their lives before moving to Tavistock in 1986. Willis died in 2008. For many years Hilda lived at the Maples Home for Seniors. She died in 2024.
