Lorne Zehr

Lorne Zehr was born in 1932 on a farm in East Zorra Township, the son of Nicholas and Clara (Erb) Zehr. He had four brothers and two sisters. His family were members at the East Zorra Amish Mennonite Church and Deitsch was his first language. Lorne attended S. S. No. 13 public school and graduated from grade 8. Lorne met his future wife, Delphine Wagler, at church and they were married in 1953. They had three sons and three daughters. Throughout his life Lorne was a progressive dairy farmer and on the cutting edge of the dairy industry. Lorne and Delphine retired to Tavistock in 1992 and moved into the Maples Home for Seniors in 2022. They are members of the East Zorra Mennonite Church.
