Wayne Wagler

Wayne Wagler was born in 1953, the son of Wilmer and Katie (Swartzentruber) Wagler. He has three sisters and two brothers. Deitsch is his first language. Wayne attended St. James Public School and Rockway Mennonite Collegiate. As a young adult, Wayne served in agricultural development with Mennonite Central Committee in Zaire (Congo). In 1976, he married Mary Zehr and they were blessed with two sons and two daughters. With his family, Wayne developed Claynook Farm and transformed a commercial herd of 60 Holsteins into an internationally recognized seed stock herd of 180 cows. They were awarded two Master Breeder Shields. Wayne and Mary retired from Claynook in 2023 and are members of the Mapleview Mennonite Church. Wayne serves as a church planter and leadership coach.
